FAQ's

Here the author will answer some of the most common questions which, hopefully, save repeatedly sending e-mails giving the same answers.

Q: I want to place an order for the book now can I order it from you or this web site?

A: No, sorry. You need to do that via the publisher's web site - Lewis Masonic - this web site is intended to provide information about specific subjects such as Freemasonry, Rosslyn Chapel, the Knights Templar etc. and how they relate to the book.

Q: So what is the purpose of the site?

A: Simply, I wanted to have some input into the discussion about my book (and the subjects such as Freemasonry which is discusses) and a web site is one way to do that. I suppose it is a way of retaining some control over what is done with my work.

Q: Can you please provide details of the principal images on the site?

A: Sure:

Links: A graveslab found near Rosslyn Chapel.  Now inside the chapel  - it is now described as a KT graveslab.

Author: 18th century engraving of a Masonic Initiation.

Discussion: engraving of a knight on a slab in Rosslyn Chapel.

Introduction: spectacles on a medical dictionary.

Book contents: 19th century. Installation of Lord Glenlyon (later the Duke of Atholl) as Grand Master of the Masonic Knights Templar of Scotland.

Q: When is the book due to be published?

A: It was originally scheduled for December 2006 but it is now anticipated that it will appear in the book shops in October. Details of the book launch and book signings will be given here when the details are known.

Q: Can you provide some other web sites with information on the subjects covered in the book, especially Freemasonry, Rosslyn Chapel and the Knights Templar?

A: Yes. Some of my favourites are on the Links Page and to go there click here or on the previous link. You may also notice that throughout the site I have supplied links link this: Freemasonry which take you directly to another site on the subject. This is a double edged sword though because in providing that service I am almost encouraging you to leave this site - please use the back button!

Q: Can we have a photo of you in your Masonic regalia?

A: Why, what's wrong with the one on the 'about the author' page?

Q: Because you are not wearing Masonic regalia!

A: Well, at least I look reasonably young and slim! I shall see if I can find another picture.
